Junk Removal

We can remove unwanted household items, garbage, recycling, donations, and other non-hazardous materials from homes, apartments, condominiums, townhouses, garages, sheds, basements, workshops, and other residential spaces.

And of course, as a cleaning company, we’re well-positioned to give your freshly emptied space a thorough reset.

What is Junk Removal?

Junk removal is the process of removing unwanted items and materials from your home so they can be disposed of, recycled, donated, or otherwise handled appropriately.

As part of our cleaning services, we can remove items from inside your home or other areas of your property, handle the lifting and loading, and clear the space for you.

Our Residential Junk Removal Services

Make room for what matters. Clutter has a way of piling up over the years, and the bigger the pile gets, the harder it is to remove until the job starts to feel impossible. At Yellow Glove Cleaning, we can clear out everything you’ve been shoving in closets, garages, and sheds to give you the fresh start you’ve been waiting for.

Garage Cleanouts

Garages collect all sorts of items you’ll never use again. In fact, they often end up storing everything but the car you’re supposed to keep in there.

If you’re ready to reclaim your garage, we can help remove unwanted furniture, boxes, tools, household items, and other non-hazardous clutter. Once everything is out of the way, you can also add cleaning services to the project to get your garage back in usable condition.

Basement and Storage Cleanouts

Basements, storage rooms, and sheds can accumulate years of unwanted belongings.

Whether you’re preparing for a renovation, getting ready to sell your home, downsizing, or simply tired of looking at the clutter, we can help clear the space.

Downsizing and Decluttering

Downsizing can mean making difficult decisions about what to keep, donate, or throw away.

Once you’ve decided what isn’t coming with you, we can help remove the items you no longer need. This can be particularly useful when moving from a larger home into a smaller house, apartment, or condominium.

Move In and Move Out Junk Removal

Moving is a natural time to get rid of things you don’t want to take with you.

We can remove unwanted furniture, boxes, garbage, and other items before you leave your current home. We can also help clear items left behind by prior occupants if you’re moving in. Combine this with our move in and move out cleaning services for a less stressful move.

Estate and Property Cleanouts

Preparing a home for sale after a loss can be a deeply emotional and overwhelming time. Our cleaners can work alongside you to handle disposal, donations, and cleaning for estate and property cleanouts, taking one task off your plate during a difficult, stressful time.

Mental Health Cleans

Mental illness is pervasive and can easily take over other parts of your life. A clean, organized home can quickly become difficult to maintain. Alongside our regular cleaning services, we can offer specialized cleaning and clearing services for people with hoarding disorders and other conditions upon request. Our cleaners will work with you to help you sort through what items can be removed from your home.

What We Don’t Remove

We don’t handle hazardous materials or substances that require specialized disposal or remediation.

This can include:

  • Asbestos-containing materials
  • Biohazardous waste
  • Medical waste
  • Certain chemicals
  • Fuels and hazardous liquids
  • Explosives
  • Other regulated materials

If you’re unsure about something you need removed, please contact us before your appointment so we can determine whether we can safely handle it or make a recommendation for another service.

Junk Removal FAQs

What happens to the items you remove?

Not everything that you no longer want necessarily belongs in the landfill.
When practical, we’ll separate materials and items according to the appropriate disposal method. Depending on their condition and type, items may be suitable for donation, reuse, recycling, or regular disposal.
We don’t promise that every item can be donated or recycled, but we’ll look for appropriate alternatives to landfill disposal whenever practical.

Do I have to move everything outside before you arrive?

No. Depending on the items and the property, we can remove unwanted items from inside your home, garage, basement, shed, or other accessible areas.

Can you clean after the junk is removed?

Yes! This is one of the benefits of using Yellow Glove Cleaning. You can combine junk removal with our residential cleaning services so the space is not only cleared but also professionally cleaned.

Do I need to be home during the junk removal?

Not necessarily. Depending on the property and how the items you want removed are organized, we may be able to handle the junk removal while you’re away. We’ll discuss access with you when scheduling the appointment.
